Adding a Violation

Use this screen to add violations to a case. To open this screen, select + in the detailed record view and then select Violation.

This screen includes:

  • Violation Type field—Type of violation associated with this case.

Add the first violation by selecting the violation type you want from the Violation Type field. In the Violation Type field, you can scroll through the available violations by swiping up or down, or you can search for an violation by typing the violation name in the field.

To add another violation, select the Violation Type field to open the drop-down list. Select additional violation types to select them. The selected violation types are listed in the Violation Type selected pane.

After you select all the violations you want, select in the Violation Type field to close the drop-down list.

  • Violation Type selected pane—Select a violation in this pane to select it. Then complete the fields for the violation. Repeat for each violation in this pane.

Note If you decide you do not want to add one of the violation types you selected, swipe the violation to the left in the Violation Type selected pane. The violation is removed from the list. If only one violation remains, the Violation Type selected pane no longer appears.

  • Location field—Area of the property where the violation occurred.
  • Status field—Status of the violation.
  • Observed field—Date the violation was first observed by an inspector or officer.
  • Corrected field—Date by which you want the issue to be corrected. When you add this date, the date you select cannot be in the past.
  • Remarks field—Short comment that provides more detail about the case.
  • Compliance field—Date that an inspector verified that the issue was corrected.
  • Notes field—Standard or custom notes that provide more details about the activity.

After you update all violation types, select Save to save the violations. Or, at any time, select Cancel to close the screen without saving changes.
